Outsourcing 3D rendering
Thinking of outsourcing your 3D rendering and you are not sure where to start, then this blog is for you.
The first question we often get asked, is how much the rendering services cost and how long it will take - and we would love to give every designer a quick answer, but all projects are unique, so allow me to explain the service and pricing.
Designers are often quite surprised at the cost of 3D renders and don’t realise how long 3D renders can take - Considerable time and effort goes into the final images - several hours can be spent to perfect the lighting, correct shadows and apply photo enhancing edits.!
What to expect:
Our VAs use an array of software options for design work and modelling, so if you have a design that is completed in one of these programs, it will speed the rendering process up immensely. If not, we are able to import designs from other software packages too.
No design software? Don't worry, we can create your render from a simple floor plan and photos.
More complex furniture models do take extra time, and quite often designers are happy with furniture models which are very close in design, but not 100% the same.
Kitchen and bathroom renders are more complex and will take much longer to complete, with a higher cost. Usually living areas, and bedrooms are the quickest and easiest renders to do.
Which software packages are we currently using for 3D rendering?’
Sketchup
VRay
Chief Architect
MyDoma visualizer
Revit
3dsMax
Enscape
Rhino
Corono
Lumion
This is what your 3D render artist would need to get render started:
We would love to give the best quote for your project, in order to estimate the time it would take me, please send me the following:
Floor plan, a hand drawn sketch is also fine!
Photos (if available)
Any design files in Sketchup (.skp models exported in 2106), Chief Architect (.3ds files) or Revit (.dwg)
A full and detailed list of every item that will be used in the design, with direct vendor links - this will allow me to look into detail at the design, textures and sizes. Unfortunately screenshots, cell phone photos or partial images are not accurate enough
How much will my render cost? Choose your level of detail
The level of detail will determine the cost of your render - the more detail, the more time it will take. Photo-realistic renders with the exact furniture models and textures such as fabric will take the longest.
